2025년 1~7월 북미 전기차(EV) 시장은 총 101만 대가 판매되며 전년 동기 대비 1.2% 성장했습니다. BEV는 79만 대(-0.5%), PHEV는 22만 대(+3.3%)로, BEV가 정체된 가운데 PHEV 수요가 소폭 증가했습니다.
BEV 부문에서는 테슬라가 여전히 316.9천 대로 1위를 지켰지만 점유율이 40.1%까지 하락했습니다. 반면, 쉐보레(+113%)와 혼다(+361%) 등 로컬 OEM의 약진이 두드러졌습니다. PHEV 부문에서는 지프가 1위를 유지했으나 판매량이 줄었고, 메르세데스·기아·BMW가 빠르게 성장했습니다.
모델별로는 테슬라 모델 Y와 3가 상위권을 유지했지만 판매량은 감소했습니다. 쉐보레 이쿼녹스와 혼다 프로로그가 새롭게 부상하며 시장 구도 변화를 주도했습니다.
PHEV에서는 지프 랭글러·그랜드 체로키가 선두를 지켰으나, 토요타 프리우스와 메르세데스 GLC, BMW X5 등이 강세를 보였습니다. 배터리 사용량은 74.9GWh(+7.5%)로 증가했으며, 파나소닉(27.8%)과 LG에너지솔루션(26.8%)이 시장을 양분했습니다.

North America’s EV & Battery Market Review – Jan–Jul 2025
In the first seven months of 2025, North America’s EV market reached 1.011 million units, up 1.2% YoY. BEV sales were 791K units (-0.5%), while PHEVs grew to 220K (+3.3%), showing flat BEV demand alongside modest PHEV growth.
Tesla remained the BEV leader with 316.9K units but its share fell to 40.1%. Meanwhile, Chevrolet (+113%) and Honda (+361%) posted impressive growth.
In PHEVs, Jeep led but declined, while Mercedes-Benz, Kia, and BMW rose rapidly.
By models, Tesla’s Model Y and 3 stayed on top but weakened, while Chevrolet’s Equinox and Honda’s Prologue reshaped the BEV rankings.
In PHEVs, Jeep’s Wrangler and Grand Cherokee held the lead, but Toyota’s Prius, Mercedes GLC, and BMW X5 showed strong gains.
Battery usage reached 74.9 GWh (+7.5%), with Panasonic (27.8%) and LG Energy Solution (26.8%) dominating the market.
