Global EV Battery Installation in 1Q 2022
CATL continued its lead in battery usage rankings for global electric vehicles (BEV, PHEV, HEV) sold in 1Q 2022. LG Energy Solution took second place and SK On is strengthening its annual cumulative 5th position.
In 1Q 2022, the total amount of battery energy for electric vehicles registered in countries around the world was 95.1GWh, about 1.9 times higher than the same period of the previous year.
For EV battery installation in 1Q 2022, CATL surged 137.7% to 14GWh and maintained the No.1 position. LGES recorded 7.7GWh, a 39.1% increase compared to last year, and ranked in second place. SK On surged 141.9% as 6.3GWh and ranked 5th, up to one place from the same period last year. Samsung SDI rose 26.2% to 3.6GWh but ranked 7th.
