The whole world economy is rolling due to the global pandemic of COVID-19.

COVID-19, known as 'Wuhan Pneumonia', has stopped the time of the world economy. Starting with the Republic of Korea where many companies had to have their employees work from home, the entire world dissuaded the people from going out at the government level. Due to this cause, consumption naturally ceased, and the use of transportation means was also noticeably reduced. In addition to those, extreme measures were also taken, including the suspension of producing vehicles itself at automobile plants and the like. Accordingly, major governments, including the United States and other countries, as well as Korea, are rushing to provide emergency funding for COVID-19.

SNE Research conducted an urgent update to this report in response to the demand of the market to newly predict fluctuations of market outlook related to this. Based on the confrontational policies of major automakers as of March this year, it is expected that supply chains of parts will be stopped for 3 months in major markets, such as Europe and the US, where the pandemic of COVID-19 is serious, and that recovery efforts will be made on this. Even in the demand side, other than the supply one, the market outlook values had to be adjusted in anticipation of a scenario that it would take some time to restore the market.

This report updated the market outlook by combining the aforementioned scenario with the existing forecasted mid- & long-term values. In addition, unlike in the past case where the growth of the energy amount per unit of secondary batteries for EVs was supported only with the overall average, it provided more specific growth data on the secondary battery market size by supporting with the average for each major automobile manufacturer.

We hope this report will be helpful to those concerned in the secondary battery and EV industries, research and securities business circles, academia, etc. Furthermore, we also hope that COVID-19 will end soon and that you will take care of your health.
