Due to the growth of EV, ESS and CE markets, the importance of batteries has become more important than ever. Of those, the importance has been revealed as a lot of increase has appeared in the demand markets for high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Currently, most of those high-performance lithium-ion batteries are mainly manufactured in 3 countries of Korea, China, and Japan; the rankings of CATL and BYD have jumped up from the 3rd and 4th places, respectively, in the first half of last year, to the 1st and 3rd ones, suggesting that the effect on the global market has gradually increased. Recently, however, as subsidy policies have changed and many small & mid-sized battery companies and several large-sized ones have gone bankrupt, it is becoming harder to predict how the situation will be changed in the Chinese battery industry. In this report, we are going to investigate how the Chinese battery market was in 2017 and how it will change in the future, while exploring in detail the overall trends and circumstances of the Chinese battery industry, in line with these changing market trends.

 

In order to investigate the Chinese battery market, this report will examine three major areas as follows:
